Jonathan’s relative Mike Ogiasa abducted by unknown gunmen in Bayelsa

Authorities of the Bayelsa State Police Command have confirmed the abduction of Engr. Mike Ogiasa by unidentified gunmen his home town in Otuabadi in Ogbia Local Government area of the State.

Engr. Ogiasa is a relative of former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, a former state commissioner for special duties (federal projects ) and a Special Adviser on power development during the administration of Former Governor Seriake Dickson.

He is also the convener of the socio-political group known as Voice of the South-South and has been in the Frontline supporting the purpoted move to draft Dr. Goodluck Jonathan into the 2023 Presidential Race.

Niger Delta Herald gathered that Engr. Ogiasa was abducted by gunmen on Wednesday 2nd June.

According to community sources , the gunmen,numbering about Eight arrived his country home after coming back home from a meeting.

The community sources told our correspondent that Engr. Ogiasa had planned to return to Yenagoa at the end of the meeting,”but some persons prevailed on him to wait till next morning. He was indoor when the gunmen arrived and abducted him”

Niger Delta Herald however gathered that the family of Engr. Ogiasa have not been contacted by his abductor for any random demand.

When contacted on the development, the spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command,SP Asinim Butswat, confirmed that Engr. Mike Ogiasa was abducted on the 2nd June and that the police is investigating the incident in order to rescue him.
