Guber flagbearer for National Rescue Movement in Rivers State, High Chief Sobomabo Jackrich has blamed the stampede that claimed the lives of over 30 persons in Port Harcourt to poverty unleashed by Governor Wike administration.

Speaking after clinching the party flag for next years guber election after primaries, Jackrich told delegates that he will not betray their trust.

He said, rivers people have been ensaved, marginalised and oppressed by the Wike led PDP government as urged the people to seek an alternative in NRM.

Jackrich reiterated tat it is only the NRM that has solution to the poor and inhuman administration of the PDP.

Citing the stampede at Polo Club where innocent persons had gone to benefit from gift items and freebies, Jackrich said it was a reflection of frustration and poverty in the land.

He therefore urged Rivers people to seek an alterative, as his administration if voted into power will fight hunger and poverty through industrialization and agriculture.

The NRM guber candidate also urged the citizens to rise up and protect their votes next years, assuring that the electoral law provides for free nd fair election.

Earlier, Chairman of the primary election committee, Chief Abel Tariah after handing over the party flag following a voice vote from delegates in the 23 LGA endorsed Chief Jackrich said the process was free and fair.

The primaries was superised by INEC officials and representatives from national office of NRM.
