The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended four suspects, including a native doctor and a teenage girl, in connection with the gruesome murder of two siblings at the Ogbodo Pipeline area of Rukpokwu in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

According to police reports, one of the suspects, identified as 27-year-old Aniekan Uko, lured the unsuspecting children to a secluded location where they were allegedly drugged and later slaughtered in a ritualistic manner. Shockingly, after killing the victims, the perpetrators reportedly drained their blood, suggesting the crime might have been committed for ritual purposes.

The police disclosed that Uko acted with the collaboration of his accomplices, including a native doctor whose role in the crime is currently being investigated. Also arrested was a teenage girl, who is suspected of playing a part in the horrifying scheme. The exact details of her involvement are yet to be revealed by law enforcement authorities.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects may have been operating as part of a larger syndicate involved in ritual killings and other criminal activities. The gruesome nature of the crime has sparked outrage among residents of the Rukpokwu community, who are calling for swift justice and stringent measures to curb ritual killings in the region.

Confirming the arrests, the Rivers State Police Command assured the public that all suspects would be thoroughly interrogated, and justice would be served. The police have also intensified efforts to unravel the full extent of the crime and determine whether other individuals were involved.

As investigations continue, the police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies. The tragic murder of the two siblings serves as a grim reminder of the dangers posed by ritualistic killings and the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect vulnerable individuals in society.
