Second term inauguration, Diri’s appointees loot Government properties in Bayelsa

As the Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri and his deputy are to be sworn-in in five days time on the 14th of February 2024, some top government appointees are alleged to be carty away government properties.

The properties according to impeccable source that crave anonymity are air conditioners,  fridges, desk top computers and laptops.

The governor is away in cote de voire for the African cup of Nations (AFCON) and efforts to get confirmation from the Secretary to State Government.  chief Gideon Ekeuwei proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.

The governor had an executive council meeting asked cabinet members to prepare their handover anodes before February 14th inauguration.

A civil servant who spoke to our correspondent and don’t want his name in print,  said it is unfortunate that highly placed governorment appointees could resort to looting of government properties.

“The governor should call his appointees to order, because this is a clear criminality and needs to sanctioned.
