Southern Ijaw Local Government Chairmanship: Don Jacob Kurobo Ebikeseiye Throws His Hat Into The Ring
With the formal announcement by the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC), that local Government polls will hold on the 6th of April 2024, aspirants have indicated their interest to contest.
One of such aspirants is a security expert and politician, Don Jacob Kurobo Ebikeseiye who is gunning for the Southern Ijaw Local Government Chairman.
He met with Youths, Chiefs, Women leaders and Stakeholders in Apoi community Southern Ijaw ward 15 constituency four recently.
Don Jacob Kurobo Ebikeseiye used the forum to declare his intension to Vye for the position of the Chairman of the LGA, he reiterated his commitment not to disappoint them if given the mandate to become the Chairman of the LGA.
Don Jacob Kurobo Ebikeseiye who is an appointee of Governor Douye Diri used the occasion to inform that he is contesting under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stressing that he is a loyal and dedicated member of the party, he had served the party and need to be given the opportunity to fly the party’s flag in the forth coming election. I am using this occasion to formally declare my intention to be the Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. I have served in many capacities as Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Korean company Daewoo Nigeria Limited and was also promoted to be the securitiy manager of the company, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor, Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor from the Administration of Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha till date.
Speaking further he promised to carry all along in the scheme of things if elected. I am from Apoi community in southern Ijaw ward 15 constituency 4, which is made up of Apoi kingdom and Gbaraun kingdom with large oil and gas resources and forest reserves for red monkeys in Nigeria.
He bemoan the neglect of Apoi and Gbaraun Kingdom. Apoi has not gotten political position of a commissioner or neither had any elective position like Chairman of the Council, Vice Chairman of the Council and House of Assembly Member since 1999 till date.
Don Jacob Kurobo Ebikeseiye appealed to the state Governor senator Douye Diri to give equal opportunities to all Wards and LGAs adding that Apoi kingdom should be considered for commissioner in the new dispensation.
He said that Health, Education and Empowerment of Youths, Women and the elderly will be a top priority if given the mandate. I call on the PDP delegates to Vote for me during the primary Election to pick the party’s ticket.
