The Chairman of the Bayelsa State Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Ebiye Tarabina has commended contractors handling Government projects in the state for pace and milestones achieved on the projects.
Engr. Tarabina made the commendation during a project inspection tour in the state on Thursday July 14, 2022.
Project inspected includes the Nembe/ Brass road, the new commissioners’ quarters and the Sagbama/Ekeremor road project.
Engr. Tarabina maintained that the present administration was fully committed to the infrastructural development of the state, and therefore charged contractors to ensure projects were executed to the best of standards and according Government specifications.
He noted that the directorate will continue to insist on quality and standards, adding that the projects are significant for the present and future
development of the state.
Speaking on the Nembe /Brass road project, Engr. Tarabina lauded Setraco, the company handling the project for the progress made, but however urged the company to expedite action in the coming days to achieve greater height.
At the new commissioners quarters’ project, Onopa, the project monitoring boss commended Koe procurement and service limited (KPSL) the company handling the project for the milestones achieved stressing the need for the timely completion the project.
Responding, the surveyor of Setraco construction company, Mr. Maha Salisu on the Nembe/ Brass road project said 900 metres distance has been cleared on the road.
Mr. Salisu noted that the company had a target of clearing 200 metres daily, and commended the state Government for awarding the contract, noting that with the determination of the present administration on infrastructural development, the company would be able to complete the project on schedule.
Commenting on the new commissioners’ quarters, the site engineer of Koe procurement and service limited, Engr. Mac. Dabibi appreciated the chairman of the directorate and his team for ensuring compliance by contractors and commended the present administration for pace of infrastructural development in the state.
Engr. Dabibi said the company would do everything humanly possible to complete the project in record time.
The chairman was accompanied on the tour by the Secretary of the board, Engr. Sampson Igodo, members of the board, and heads of department, engineers amongst others.
