Tarabina Inspects Ongoing Bridge and Road Projects in Yenagoa

The Chairman of the Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Engr. Ebiye Tarabina, Mcoren, on Wednesday undertook an inspection visit to key ongoing infrastructure projects in Yenagoa, including the Imgbi Junction Bridge and the sand-filling works linking the Glory Drive Phase 3 Road from the Tombia axis.

In a statement signed by Sambo Sataria, Director of Media and Publicity, the Directorate disclosed that sand and cement stabilization is currently ongoing at the Imgbi Junction Bridge site. The statement further noted that the inspection was part of the chairman’s routine monitoring exercise aimed at ensuring strict adherence to quality standards and project timelines.

Tarabina also visited the Polaku–Sabagreia Bridge project, where casting, slab work, and iron bending activities are actively ongoing. He expressed satisfaction with the level of progress and urged the contractors to sustain the momentum to ensure timely completion of the projects.

Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Tarabina commended Governor Douye Diri for his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development across Bayelsa State, describing the ongoing works as “a clear demonstration of responsive and people-oriented governance.” He added that the Directorate would continue to intensify project supervision to ensure that every kobo invested translates into tangible development for the people.

The chairman was accompanied on the inspection tour by the Secretary of the Directorate, Engr. Sampson Igodo, as well as board members, engineers, and other technical officers.
