Three-Month-Old Infant Missing In Akwa Ibom
A devastating incident has shaken the community of Ndon Eyo in Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, as a three-month-old baby girl, Princess Anne Uwanaobong Jerry Umana, has gone missing.
According to eyewitnesses, the baby’s mother, Ms. Ibaobong, who is deaf and dumb, had momentarily entrusted the child to an unknown woman, who then allegedly absconded with the infant.
The incident occurred on October 8th, 2024, The mother, unable to communicate verbally, relied on gestures to alert neighbors and passersby.
Further investigation has revealed that the suspect is a friend of the missing child’s mother, from Ikot Akpatek, still within Onna LGA. The woman had pretended to be looking for a rented room to stay in the area.
Upon meeting the mother, she gained her trust and was handed the baby while the mother stepped inside to change her clothes. Unbeknownst to the mother, the woman fled the scene with the child.
Princess Anne Uwanaobong Jerry Umana was born on July 2nd, 2024, at Ndon Eyo in Onna LGA.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command , ONNA has launched an immediate investigation into the disappearance based on the report by the father of the child,Mr. Jerry Umana.Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the baby’s whereabouts to come forward.
“We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safe return of Princess Anne,” said the Police source. “We appeal to the public to provide any relevant information, no matter how insignificant it may seem.”
The Ndon Eyo community is reeling from the news, with residents expressing shock and concern for the baby’s safety.
“This is a tragic incident, and we are deeply saddened,” said [Community Leader’s Obong Samson Akpan]. “We will cooperate fully with the authorities to ensure the baby’s safe return.”
The suspect, a friend of the mother, is described as being from Ikot Akpatek, Onna LGA
