UNIPORT lauds Amotoi Global Services for uncommon contribution to educational growth, student welfare

The University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State has commended a leading indigenous oil servicing company, Amotoi Global Services Limited, for its contribution towards the growth of students and the institution.

Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill made this known at the grand finale of the “Enterprise Challenge 2024” organized by the University of Port Harcourt Entrepreneurial Centre (UPEC) on Thursday.

The challenge was organized by Professor Chioma Blaise Chikere, Director, UPEC and Dr. Waribugo Sylva, Deputy Director.

The first, second and third winners of the entrepreneurial challenge were awarded with the sum of N250,000, N150,000 and N100,000 respectively.

Prof. Georgewill who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Clifford Ofurum, appreciated the company particularly its MD/CEO, Barr. Amunaboye Clement, for supporting the University and the Entrepreneurial Centre

“I know very well that there are one million and one industries and companies that are richer than this particular one but they’ve not come to us to say they’re interested in students and students welfare.

“Let me also announce to the general public that Amotoi Group has given scholarships to 50 students of this university.

“I’m not talking about scholarships that we are waiting to receive the money, I’m talking about scholarships that have been fully funded and paid for,” he said.

In their separate remarks, two winners of the Enterprise Challenge, Miss Mirabel Ekperi and Mr. Godstime Onyebuchi were delighted to participate and emerge winners of the challenge which they described as impactful.

They also commended Amotoi Global Services Limited and its CEO for funding and making the event a reality, as the money will boost their small-scale businesses.

Amotoi’s boss, while speaking at the event, reiterated the firm’s commitment towards advancing effective learning and excellence to yield more productivity.

Represented by Barr. Diepreye Thom-Okoro, General Manager, Corporate Services, Barr. Amunaboye said the company is pleased to be part of the remarkable event.

“For every opportunity we have to advance the same in the larger society we take it gladly and work with it.

“Today’s event lends credence to that commitment by Amotoi Global Services Limited to advance learning and excellence.

He thanked the Vice Chancellor and the entire management of UNIPORT for the “opportunity given us to be part of this event. We are willing and open to further strategic collaborations.”
