BDI mourns as Eradiri loses mother-in-law
The Bayelsa Development Initiative (BDI) has mourned the death of Maryam Abubakar, the mother-in-law of the Bayelsa State Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Engr. Udengs Eradiri.
BDI in a statement signed by its Secretary, Michael Sam-Rodamini, described Maryam, who hails from Auchi in Edo State and died at 61 on Thursday morning after losing her battle with cancer, as an irreplaceable loss.
Sam-Rodamini said the woman, who retired as an executive director of a commercial bank and later served as a commissioner and director of an agency in Edo, remained one of the committed politicians and philanthropist, who worked assiduously for the development and empowerment of humanity.
He said Maryam was humane, kind, generous and made indelible contributions to humanity.
Sam-Rodamini said her passage occurred at a time she was greatly needed and prayed God to comfort Eradiri and his entire family.
