Search For Common Ground Kick Starts Community Remobilization In Bayelsa

As part of activities to actualize her project of enhancing community peace architecture in the Niger Delta Region  a none governmental organization known as Search for Common Ground (SEARCH) has kicked off her remobilization exercise in the communities.

 

This the group said is it aimed at strenghtening  peace  across the sixty six communities in the region.

 

Recall that SEARCH had launched the project named community centered approach to transforming the criminality and violence in the Niger Delta recently in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital, Rivers and Delta.

The project is being sponsored by the European Union to be executed by Search for Common Ground in partnership with Stakeholders Democracy Network, Foundation for Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta and Academic Associates Peace Works.

 

Speaking  on Monday at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Bubaraye Dakolo, Agada iv, the Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom and chairman, Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council  where the group went to intimate the King of their plans in the community, Yacinthe Agbadjagan the head of programme implementation in the region stated that the purpose of the organization was to embark on a journey towards lasting peace, security and prosperity in the Niger Delta.

 

Agbadjagan  said ” As part of the project’s implementation strategy the consortium is undertaking the remobilization activity to reinforce the overreaching goal of fostering inclusive community security approaches in Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers States.

 

“The remobilization exercise seeks to catalyse dialogue and collaboration between community level actors and security agencies, fostering trust, sharing knowledge and enhancing responsiveness to community needs.

 

“The exercise will feature dynamic discussions, dialogue session and action planning among community stakeholders. It is  also aimed at ensuring enduring sustainability, effectiveness and peace building efforts beyond the project’s lifespan.

 

Responding, King Dakolo assured the group of his support stating that his doors are always open for discussion.

 

He said ” My doors are wide open for you. I’m here to render any kind of support that will see to the actualization of the project.

 

I assure you  of my support and the support of the kingdom now and always.
