NDDC Harps on Strategic Partnership with NIPR

The Executive Director, Corporate Services of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, has stressed the need for strategic partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR.

Hon Abegunde stated this when the Chairman of NIPR, Rivers State Chapter, Mr. Francis Asuk, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the NDDC Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, at the Commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.
Ogbuku, who was represented by the Executive Director Corporate Services, highlighted the
importance of reputation management and the critical role NIPR plays in maintaining a positive national image.

He pointed out that a well-managed reputation could attract international investments, while a negative image could deter potential investors. The EDCS encouraged the committee to formalise its partnership proposal with the NDDC.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of NIPR Rivers State, Mr. Francis Asuk, said the delegation was at NDDC to discuss the upcoming NIPR 2024 Week. He said that the image managers were focusing on the theme: “Rebuilding National Reputation through Business Integrity and Public Trust.”
Asuk observed that the upcoming NIPR Week would not be complete without the participation and sponsorship of the NDDC. He emphasised the aptness of the programme’s theme and stressed the crucial role the NDDC could play to enhance the relationship between the oil-rich Niger Delta region and the Federal Government.

The NIPR Chairman expressed confidence that the NDDC’s involvement would significantly contribute to rebuilding the nation’s reputation.

He expressed satisfaction that the meeting was productive highly productive, with Abegunde expressing a strong interest in forming a strategic partnership between the NDDC and NIPR. Both parties acknowledged the potentials of collaboration to foster trust and strengthen the nation’s global image.
