The National Association of proprietors of private Schools (NAPPS) has called on states and federal level to provide grant to support private schools to continue giving effective and qualitative private education and especially to boost the education sector of the country.
The National President of NAPPS, Chief Yomi Otubela made this known during the NAPPS Day celebration in Uyo
With the theme NAVIGATING ECONOMIC SHIFT: STRATEGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL GROWTH
The President said these grants would enable private schools to improve infrastructure and technology while maintaining quality education for the benefit of Nigerian children.
According to him, despite the development he urged the federal government to implement subsidies or tax waivers to reduce the financial burden on schools and families due to the high costs of textbooks and educational materials.
The state chairman NAPPS Akwa Ibom State, Elder Nse-Obong UdoIdong said they have made significant strides in promoting quality education, supporting their members and shaping the future of their students to become God fearing leaders in future
The chairman said they invest in teachers development while provide ongoing training, empowering educators to leverage technology and innovative pedagogies by adopting this strategy we can enhance students success and increase operational efficiency, build resilience against economic uncertainty, contribute to a sustainable future for our communities.
Earlier, the commissioner for education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet was represented by the director of higher education in the ministry; Dr. Anietie Ikot commended The National Association of proprietors of private Schools for their tremendous hard work despite the uphill task still stand firm without relenting continuously to boost the educational sector of the state. While the ministry will continue to recognize them for their successful job to produce quality leaders in future and while they should continue to unite as one without discrimination among them.
