As part of her drive to build Capacity of personnel in the oil and gas sector, Nigeria has signed an agreement with Universities in Scotland.


This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D. in a statement made available to the media.
According to the Minister
“Capacity building is key to the success of our oil and gas sector, and achieving this domestically offers significant benefits in terms of cost savings and the ability to train a larger number of professionals”.

Lokpobiri further noted that “through a strategic collaboration with Scottish universities, PTDF is driving knowledge transfer to the College of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Kaduna. This initiative ensures that more scholars are trained locally while maintaining the global quality required to meet industry demands.”

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to aligning global best practices with local needs, ensuring that our oil and gas sector remains competitive and self-sustaining for years to come.”
