A Nigerian academic and distinguished engineer, Engr. (Mrs.) Amalate Ann Obuebite, PhD, FNSE, a senior lecturer at the Niger Delta University (NDU), has been honoured with the Engineering Educator Award by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) in the United States.

The award was formally announced at the SWE International Conference held in New Orleans on October 25, 2025, drawing leading figures in engineering, education, and innovation from around the world.

Dr. (Mrs.) Obuebite also delivered a captivating keynote address titled “Strategies for Effective Women Empowerment in the Energy Industry,” which earned widespread acclaim for its insight and inspiration. Her presentation underscored her lifelong dedication to empowering women in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines and promoting global diversity and inclusion.
