N’Delta group extols leadership qualities of DESOPADEC boss

A sociopolitical organization under the aegis of Niger Delta Advocates for Peace and Good Governance  Group (NDAPGGG) has extolled the leadership ingenuity of the Executive Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Dr. Shadrach Agediga.


The group recently honoured the DESOPADEC boss on his efforts in promoting peace and providing succour to the downtrodden in the Niger Delta region.


NDAPGGG in a statement signed by its national coordinator, Comrade Fiawei Pathfinder described Agediga as a great achiever and a patriotic son of Delta State and the Niger Delta region, noting that the group holds him in very high esteem because of the indelible impact he has made over the years in the lives of the people of Ugulagha Kingdom where he hails from.


The group also described the DESOPADEC executive director as an Ambassador of Peace who detests violence, oppression and intolerance but upholds the rare virtues of humility, love and generosity which stand him out among his peers. 


“Your distinctive and uncommon elements stand you out because you are a pillar and an epitome of peace in the Niger Delta region; an advocate of peace and good governance, bridge builder and detribalised personality.


“You are an icon of peace and value Engineer; a rare Ambassador and Justice of the Peace (JP); an outstanding humanitarian and philanthropist par excellence; an embodiment of peace, love, humility and respect. 


“A multiple award winner on peace, education, humanitarian service and development; a catalyst of human capacity building, restorer of hope of the people;  strong voice for the oppressed and defender of the defenceless. 


“You are a believer and driver of the socio-economic development;  galvanizer of grassroots development and peace;  a rallying point of progressives and positive minds  engine-room of positive ideology; quintessential and unprecedented giver, adding value to lives of vulnerable and poor Nigerians.


“You can a champion of peaceful coexistence among communities; and the torch-bearer of Ugulagha Kingdom. In fact, we can go on and on because your impacts are enormous and reverberating,” it said.


Going down memory lane, the group said the DESOPADEC man had been a leader from his youthful days hence he was massively elected by the young people as the pioneer President of Ugulagha Federated Youth Council with numerous achievements which still speak volume till date.


Continuing, the advocacy group said “we also remember how you were appointed Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State, which was not far-fetched from your nature of peace, respect and maturity in handling issues, and you were really on ground to add value to the governance process.


“No doubt, your current appointment as Executive Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) is well deserved, which is a great indicator of your past faithful, selfless and loyal stewardship in service to the people. The current impact you are making to galvanise and transform oil and gas bearing communities is enormous and amazing.


“Just take a look at your effort to give the DESOPADEC a new lease of life and sense of belonging to the people of oil bearing communities in Delta State, which has been strongly backed up by the Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.”
The group further highlighted some of the critical and legacy projects of the DESOPADEC helmsman to include: carnalisation of Sekebolou, electrification of Ogulagha to Youbebe, construction of Landing Jetty at Obotobo 1, construction of concrete pavement road at Enekorogha and Electrification of Obuguru Town.    


Others are construction of Health Centre at Sekobolou, construction of landing jetty at Inikorogha Town, construction and furnishing of Seikebolou Town Hall,      construction of three classroom blocks at Okuntu, renovation and furnishing of Trinity Primary School, Youbebe, numerous human capital development on peace and conflict resolution in the creeks, advocacy on sustainable peace, empowerment of youths and women empowerment as well as other humanitarian gestures across the Niger Delta.


 The group also pointed out that Agediga has fostered peaceful coexistence in the Niger Delta region through his Shadrach Agediga Foundation (SAF)
