Chairman of Bayelsa Queens Pastor Robin Apreala has hailed the Prosperity girls for the third place finish in the just concluded CAF Women Champions League in Morocco.

 

Nigeria Women’s Football League champions, Bayelsa Queens beat Simba Queens of Tanzania 1-0 and claimed a third place finish at the second edition of the CAF women’s Champions League at the weekend.

 

Pastor Apreala in statement described the Yenagoa based side victory as soul lifting to Nigeria football, pointing out that the feat achieved by the girls has demonstrated how formidable Bayelsa Queens could be in the continent in the future.

 

He commended the team for their sense of patriotism and professionalism which has culminated in their third place finish, noting that the Prosperity girls would come stronger next season in the competition.

 

The statement appreciates the technical crew for their commitment and doggedness which earned the team the golden bronze to become the first Nigerian women’s team to earn a podium finish at the women’s Champions League which started last year.

 

According to the statement, Mr Apreala thanked the Bayelsa State government for the continuous support they have rendered to the team from league campaign to the spectacle at the North African nation, saying that Bayelsa Queens have never had it so good.

 

He equally lauded the fans and Bayelsans for prayers and support throughout the competition assuring them of a better 2022/2023 season

 

The Amassoma born sports administrator also commended the media for the quality reportage they have given to the team in the last three years of its endless success.
