NYSC deploy 1316 corps members to Bayelsa

The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed a total of 1,316 corps members to Bayelsa State for the 2023 Batch “B” Stream I Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Boro Town in the state.

The arrival of the Corps members coincides with the ongoing building of two additional hostels in the camp by the State Government to aid the deployment of more corps members to the state.

The Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, while presiding over the swearing-ceremony of the newly deployed corps members on friday, charged them to render quality service to the state and the nation at large.

Governor Diri, represented by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on NYSC Matters, Mr. Wisdom Poyeri , also urged the corps members participate actively in all camp activities to boost their leadership and entrepreneurship skills, assuring that his administration will continue to support the scheme to achieve its set objectives.

He assured them of adequate security and welfare as well as a conducive environment to serve the nation.

The State Co -ordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity in an introductory address disclosed that the 1316 corps members deployed to the state are being registered and gradually adjusting to the demands of the orientation exercise.

She used the medium to thank Governor Douye Diri for building two additional hostels in the camp noting that it will aid the deployment of more corps members to the state.

Highlight of the event was the administration of National and NYSC Pledges on the corps members by the State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Maltide Abrakasa Ayemieye.
Top government functionaries, Representatives of Service Commanders, Traditional rulers were among dignitaries at the occasion.
