Correctional Service Seeks Stronger Collaboration with NDDC
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Mr. Sylvester Nwakuche, has commended the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, and his management team for their outstanding contributions to the development of the Niger Delta region.
In a statement issued by Seledi Thompson-Wakama, Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Nwakuche lauded the NDDC for the series of impactful projects executed across the region since the assumption of office by the current management.
According to him, “Some of us here may not fully understand the extent of what the NDDC has done for the Niger Delta. In my own community, for instance, the Commission has executed projects that have significantly improved living conditions. The NDDC has also provided amenities in almost all the correctional centres within the Niger Delta region.”
He further appealed for sustained collaboration between the NDDC and the Correctional Service in key areas such as agriculture, vocational training, and healthcare, stressing that such partnerships would enhance the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates.
