The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has congratulated the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, on receiving the prestigious African Public Service Award at the African Heritage Awards held in Morocco.

In a statement signed by MOSIEND’s National President, Dr. Kennedy Tonjo West, the group commended Dr. Ogbuku for his visionary and people-oriented leadership, which it said has sparked rapid socioeconomic and infrastructural development across the Niger Delta.

Dr. West described Dr. Ogbuku’s leadership as transformative, noting that his administration has successfully redirected the Commission’s focus “from transaction to transformation.” He emphasized that the NDDC, under Dr. Ogbuku’s strategic guidance, has executed impactful projects in rural communities—projects that align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This award is a well-earned recognition of Dr. Ogbuku’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the Niger Delta. His leadership has restored public confidence in the NDDC and rekindled hope among the people,” West stated.

MOSIEND urged all stakeholders in the Niger Delta to unite in support of Dr. Ogbuku’s administration, calling on critics to abandon divisive distractions that may hinder the region’s progress.

“We appeal to our youths to shun actions that could tarnish the image of our region. Instead, they should become ambassadors of peace and development, working collectively to position the Niger Delta as a prime destination for global business and investment,” West added.

Reaffirming its unwavering support, MOSIEND pledged to continue partnering with the NDDC to drive sustainable development and positive change throughout the region.
