Opolo- Elebele Road project : Bayelsa govt announces Closure,Diversion

The Bayelsa State Government has announced the cpmmencement of the dualisation of the Opolo Elebele Road project beginning from the Opolo market axis.
The project was awarded by the previous government of Senator Seriake Dickson before the prosperity government is continuing with the aim of completing it.
A statement signed by ESV Moses Teibowei Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure noted that the project has started and urged residents to cooperate to ensure its timely completion.
The statement read : ‘This is to inform residents that the dualisation of the Opolo/Elebele Road from the Opolo market area has started and part of the road will be closed to traffic from Monday, September 9, 2024 to enable Julius Berger carry out the expansion/dualisation of that section of the road.

“The area to be closed is from the roundabout on Isaac Boro Road towards Opolo market as serious work will commence on both sides of the road.

“Consequently, those whose vehicles are parked within the span of 450 metres from the Opolo Roundabout are advised to remove them with immediate effect.

“Similarly, motorists and residents are advised to make use of other concrete internal roads within the Opolo Market Road to access other parts of the state capital.

“We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you even as we plead for your understanding within this period.”
