As part of his engagement in Cape Town in South Africa, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri has again reiterated on advancing support for local investors in Nigeria’s oil sector.

This was made know in a statement he signed and made available to journalists.

According to the Minister. “On the sidelines of #AEW2024 in Cape Town, I had a productive meeting with Prof. Benedict Oramah, President of Afrexim Bank, the financial partner with APPO on the Africa Energy Bank project of which Nigeria is hosting the Headquarters.

“Our discussion centered on advancing support for local investors in Nigeria’s oil sector, as a critical step toward boosting economic growth and securing more sustainable funding avenues for our national development initiatives.

“With Africa collectively moving in this direction, there is tremendous opportunity for growth, especially as we foster an investor-friendly environment supported by favorable policies. This collaborative approach can unlock unprecedented potential, and I urge investors, both in the oil sector and across other industries, to actively participate in this transformation.”
