Remain united to build your association, Ewhrudjakpo advises NACHPN members
Members of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) have been advised to remain focused and united to build a strong professional association to promote effective primary healthcare delivery in the country.
The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, gave the advice on Friday when officials of the NACHPN, from the South-South zone paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Government House, Yenagoa.
The Deputy Governor said a house divided against itself could not stand, stressing that the only way the association could attain its goals was to work in unity of purpose.
He pointed out that the flagship of any professional association like the NACHPN was to remain focused and not be carried away by infighting, self aggrandizement and unnecessary jealousy.
According to Senator Ewhrudjakpo, as they prepare for the National Delegates Conference of NACHPN in February this year, they should have the right intentions and motivation for service through a responsible leadership.
The Deputy Governor equally urged the South South zonal officers to use the delegates conference to fight for the unity of the NACHPN and guard against unnecessary battles that would weaken the body.
Speaking earlier, the South-South representative and national transition committee member, Mr. Victor Omerigbe, said the zonal executives of NACHPN were in Yenagoa for a meeting, preparatory to the forthcoming national conference in Abuja.
Mr. Victor Omerigbe, who congratulated Senator Ewhrudjakpo as the first member of the association to become a Deputy Governor, appealed for the state government’s support towards the successful conduct of the conference.
The state chairmen of NACHPN from Bayelsa, Rivers, Edo, and Cross River states were part of the delegation to Government House, Yenagoa.
