South-South Governors Celebrate Oborevwori at 63, Hail Leadership and Development Strides

YENAGOA — The South-South Governors Forum (SSGF) has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday, describing him as an outstanding leader and dedicated public servant.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, the governors joined the people of Delta State and other well-wishers in celebrating Oborevwori’s life, leadership and contributions to governance.

The Forum noted that Oborevwori’s rise from being the longest-serving Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly to Governor of Delta State reflects his commitment to democratic ideals and visionary leadership.

According to the statement, the Delta governor has continued to make remarkable progress through his M.O.R.E Agenda, particularly in infrastructure development, security, social welfare and policies aimed at promoting prosperity and unity in the state.

The South-South governors commended Oborevwori’s dedication to the peace, stability and development of Delta State and the wider South-South region, describing his leadership as a source of inspiration.

The Forum also prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, good health and strength for the governor as he continues to steer the affairs of Delta State.

“Your dedication to the peace and progress of your state and our region remains a profound inspiration,” the statement said.
Governor Oborevwori turned 63 on June 19, 2026.

The congratulatory message was signed by Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State and Chairman of the South-South Governors Forum.
