Former CSO Govt House, Commander Doo’ Akpo Slumps, dies in Yenagoa
The Bayelsa State Police Command was thrown into mourning on Monday following the sudden death of the commandâs OC Administration, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Isufi Idown Emmanuel.
The super cop was the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Government House and Commander of the State Security outfit code-named operation Dooâ Akpo during the administration of Senator Seriake Dickson.
It was gathered that he slumped and died while on duty at the police headquarters in Ovom-Yenagoa. A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Asinim Butwat confirmed the incident to journalists.
According the force spokesman, the sudden death of ACP Isufi Idowu Emmanuel who was in charge of administration has thrown the command into mourning and shock.
The deceased was a native of Ekwani Community in Delta State, many officers who worked with him voiced their shock at the untimely death of their senior colleague.
A senior police officer who pleaded anonymity said it was shocking. âMany of us saw him come into the headquarters smiling and exchanging pleasantries with everyone including the rank and file.
âBut we were shocked when the alarm was raised that he collapsed. They had to rush him to the Federal Medical Centre where he was confirmed deadâ.
