Corps Members Defy East-West Road Challenges, Arrive NYSC Camp in Bayelsa
Prospective Corps Members deployed to Bayelsa State have begun arriving at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Boro Town for the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course.
Many of the corps members reportedly passed through the Agbarho axis of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, where flooding has cut off parts of the East-West Road, but defied the difficult travelling conditions to arrive at the camp as scheduled.
Attempts to speak with some of the corps members about their experiences along the Delta axis of the journey proved unsuccessful, as they said NYSC regulations did not permit them to grant interviews to newsmen.
Upon arrival at the Isaac Boro NYSC Orientation Camp, the prospective corps members underwent thorough security screening at the entrance before proceeding to the documentation points and allocation of accommodation.
Camp officials, security personnel and personnel from collaborating agencies were strategically deployed across the camp to ensure an orderly and efficient reception of the new arrivals.
Our correspondent observed that the registration and reception exercise was progressing smoothly, with officials working at designated points to facilitate the documentation, screening and accommodation of the corps members.
Despite the challenges encountered along some parts of the East-West Road, the arrival of the prospective corps members at the camp remained largely orderly, with activities continuing as scheduled.
