Bayelsa United Emerges Federation Cup Champions
Aiteo Cup Champions Bayelsa United on wednesday made a statement of intent with a 4-1 victory over Dreams Football Academy in the Bayelsa State Federation Cup final at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa.
Dreams FA who were playing for the first time in the History Federation Cup beat Crusaders Fc 5-4 on penalties to reach the final of one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country.
Favour Martins gave the Prosperity Boys the lead on 14 minute from Alex Oyowah intelligent move, seven minutes later Akali Murphy leveled the scoreline for Dreams FA from a miscommunication in the Bayelsa United defence line.

After a perfect halftime display from the Prosperity Boys coach Diepreye Teibowei made few changes with the introduction of Edwin Ayiba for Ibe Chinedu and Favour Martins which brought some level of trepidation to Dreams FA defenders.

Bayelsa United and Dreams FA will represent Bayelsa in the National Aiteo Cup later this month.
In a post match interview an elated technical adviser of Bayelsa United, Diepreye Teibowei commended his opponent for giving his team a tough fight despite the defeat, stating that Dreams FA players showed class.
He explained that Bayelsa United is a team to beat in the Aiteo Cup within the State and outside the State, but frowned at the poor officiating in the NNL.
Dreams FA head coach, Opukeme Kenneth attributed the defeat to his lads inability to train on the turf before the game, saying that they had poor preparation because they are not used to the turf at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
Also, stand in captain for Bayelsa United,Robert Mizo said he was happy to lift the trophy for the second time having won same competition with George Turnah Fc in 2018.
