An ally to a former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and an erstwhile member of the House of Representatives, Dr Dawari George, has dumped the All Progressives Congress.

George was a commissioner for energy and natural resources during the administration of Amaechi as the governor of the state.

His resignation from the APC was contained in a letter addressed to the party’s chairman at Ward 1, in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of the state and obtained by our correspondent in Port Harcourt.

While thanking the leadership and members of the party for their support, he was silent on his next political destination.
The letter read in part, “I wish to resign my membership of the All Progressive Congress. May I also thank the leadership of the party and all her members for the opportunity and support given to serve the state and the country in different capacities during my time in the party. I will always cherish the friendship and brotherhood which enforced our camaraderie at the party.

George’s resignation came a few days after an ally of Senator Magnus Abe and a former member of the House of Assembly, Golden Chioma, also dumped the party.

Like George, Chioma had yet to disclose his next political destination as of the time of filing this report, though he promised to do so in a few days.
