In line with the programme of #PNC2022, Delegates were at the Standard Institute of Technology, Uyo Akwa Ibom State on a site visit.

The facility is new and purposefully built for Training and Human Capital Development implementation in line with NCDMB core mandate.

The Standard Institute of Technology, Uyo was established to provide the same level of human capital development Nigerians travel abroad to obtain. We must remain in Nigeria to develop this country together
according to TGST Nsidibe Alexander, the MD/CEO, Standard Institute of Technology.

The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote (FNSE, FIPS) used the opportunity once again to also warmly welcome representatives of the operators and service providers in the industry as well as delegates and participants at the 2022 PNC that werr able to join in for this Facility Your and commissioning.

Wabote noted that “Human Capacity Development is very fundamental in the growth of any economy. As technology is evolving it is important to constantly acquire new knowledge and skills through training and retraining as individuals or as an organization.”

He added that the Standard Institute of Technology’s gradual but remarkable growth is a reflection of the mantra the @officialncdmb always preaches – “Nigerian Content is not a sprint; it is a marathon”.

Furthermore, Wabote highlighted that “Todays’ commissioning is timely because we are seeing an expansion of projects and opportunities not just in Nigeria but in neighboring countries. This can only mean one thing more opportunities for companies like SIT as skills will be required for manpower development.“
Wabote went on to commend the management for setting up a State-of-the-Art training facility in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom, as it reflects the diversity of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and the service companies in various locations across the country.

Accompanied by Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Akwa Ibom state Governor, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel who was represened by the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom state Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem and other stakeholders took a tour of the Standard Institute of Technology, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, as part of the Day 4 site visit of the #PNC2022 which ended today.
