Bayelsa CP Hosts JTF Operation Delta Safe Commander, Calls for Stronger Inter-Agency Synergy

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, Iyamah Daniel Edebor, on January 6, 2026, played host to the Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF), South-South, Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral OBF Oladipo, and his component commanders during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Yenagoa.

In a statement signed by Musa Mohammed, Police Public Relations Officer, the visit was described as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy between the Bayelsa State Police Command and the Operation Delta Safe, with a view to enhancing policing and overall security across Bayelsa State.

During the visit, Rear Admiral Oladipo underscored the importance of sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing, and joint operational strategies among security agencies, particularly in tackling security challenges in the state’s riverine and coastal areas.

Responding, CP Iyamah warmly received the JTF Commander and his team, reiterating the Command’s readiness to collaborate and synergise with Operation Delta Safe. He assured the Rear Admiral of the Police Command’s full support in crime prevention, maintenance of public order, and the protection of lives and property across the state.

The Commissioner of Police also pledged robust assistance through the Command’s technological assets to support operations against pipeline vandalism, crude oil theft, and illegal oil refining activities.

CP Iyamah further emphasised that inter-agency cooperation remains a critical pillar of effective security management and pledged continuous engagement to strengthen the existing security architecture in Bayelsa State.
