NUJ Bayelsa Mourns Isaac Ombe, Condoles Family
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of journalist, Mr. Isaac Ombe, who died in a fatal auto accident on Friday, January 30, 2026, along the Sagbama–Ekeremor Road.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the Council, Mr. Stanley Imgbi, the NUJ described the death of Ombe, a native of Tuomo Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, as a rude shock to the union and the journalism profession in Bayelsa State.
According to the statement, the late Isaac Ombe was a committed professional whose contributions to the growth and advancement of journalism, particularly in the area of developmental journalism, were widely acknowledged by the Council.
“The death of Isaac Ombe came to the Council as a rude shock, but we cannot question the will of the Almighty God,” the statement said.
The NUJ noted that Ombe was one of the finest hands in the practice of journalism in the state, adding that his dedication and passion for developmental reporting would be greatly missed.
The Council extended its heartfelt condolences to the wife, children, and the entire Ombe family, urging them to find strength and courage to bear what it described as a colossal and irreparable loss.
The NUJ Bayelsa State Council prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed journalist and asked God to grant his family and colleagues the fortitude to cope with the painful loss.
