Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has described the Chairman of Dewayle’s Group of Companies, High Chief (Dr.) Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore, JP, FCILG, as a man of proven character, unwavering passion, and enduring commitment to community development.

Governor Oborevwori made the remarks on Sunday, January 11, 2025, during a thanksgiving service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Okpolo-Enhwe, in Isoko South Local Government Area, held to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the internationally renowned marine and business magnate.

The Governor noted that attaining the age of 60 is a testament to God’s faithfulness, adding that offering thanksgiving remains the most meaningful way to commemorate such a milestone.

According to him, his long-standing relationship with High Chief Egukawhore has revealed a man driven by purpose, passion, and dedication to the welfare of his people.

“Success is not accidental. It is rooted in divine favour, strong values, and respect for one’s roots. High Chief (Dr.) Emonena Egukawhore has consistently demonstrated these virtues, particularly through his commitment to the development of Okpolo-Enhwe, Patani, and the wider Niger Delta,” Oborevwori said.

He commended the celebrant for his deep attachment to his maternal roots in Patani and his sustained investments in human capital and community development, while praying for God’s continued protection, good health, and increased blessings upon him and his family.

In his sermon, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Oleh, Rt. Rev. John Aruakpor, preaching from Psalm 139:14–18, described human life as “fearfully and wonderfully made,” urging the congregation to live purposefully with gratitude, humility, and obedience.

The Bishop also lauded Governor Oborevwori for visible achievements in infrastructure development across Delta State, noting that several projects compare favourably with global standards, and urged continued public support for the administration.

In his remarks, High Chief (Dr.) Egukawhore expressed profound gratitude to God, describing his life as one defined by enduring friendships, meaningful relationships, and consistent good deeds.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to service and development, noting that at 60, his journey of faith and purpose remains strong.

The thanksgiving service attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and community leaders, including the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, among other dignitaries.

Following the church service, guests proceeded to the country home of the celebrant—popularly known as the High Chief (Dr.) Emonena Egukawhore Citadel—where a colourful reception was held, drawing an unprecedented turnout that underscored his influence across Isoko Nation and the Niger Delta.

Among dignitaries at the reception were Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, representatives of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, members of the Delta and Bayelsa State Executive Councils, bank executives, academics, and other prominent personalities.

The celebration featured musical and comedy performances by leading Nigerian entertainers, while the highlight was the ceremonial cutting of the Diamond Jubilee cake by the celebrant. Festivities continued into the early hours, leaving lasting memories for guests.

Though the event has ended, the Diamond Jubilee celebration of High Chief (Dr.) Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore will continue to resonate across Enhwe Kingdom, Isoko Nation, the Niger Delta, and beyond, as a landmark celebration whose legacy will be cherished for generations.
