Teams Know Opponents as Bayelsa State FA League Kicks Off
...Advance Dreams FA Begin Title Defence Against Glitch FC
Defending champions, Advance Dreams Football Academy, will kick off their title defence this weekend in the 2024/2025 Bayelsa State Football Association League with a high-stakes clash against Glitch FC of Yenagoa. The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School (BDGS) pitch.
This year’s edition of the Bayelsa State FA League features over 20 teams competing across four different centres, with both finalists earning the opportunity to represent the state in the Nationwide Division Two play-offs later this year.
According to the match fixtures released by the State Football Association Secretary, Mr. Diseye Nwankwe, Group A action will see Famgbe FC square off against Better FC, Kingdom Stars FC lock horns with Saturday FC, while Creek FC battles Foundation FC—all on Saturday.
In Group B, Kolombia FC will take on the youthful Bayelsa FA team, while The Rhema FC faces United Stars of Okaka. Defending champions Advance Dreams FA meet debutants Glitch FC in a much-anticipated clash, with all Group B fixtures scheduled for Sunday at the BDGS centre.
Group C matches will be hosted at the Kpansia Field and will feature teams such as Stardom Light FC, AJ Inter Soccer FC, Genesis FC, NYSC FC, Sea Side FC, and tournament hopefuls Rich Destiny FC.
In Ogbia Local Government Area, teams in Group D will battle it out at the Imiringi Township Stadium. Participating teams include Hope Alive FC of Otuoke, Victory Vault FC, Emeyal 2 United, Metros FC, Movers FC of Otuasega, and Light FC. Group D matches are set to begin on Saturday.
At the Imiringi centre, Hope Alive FC will take on Vault FC in the opening fixture at 11:00 a.m. This will be followed by Emeyal 2 United versus Metros FC at 1:00 p.m., while the final match of the day will see Movers FC go head-to-head with Light FC.
