The results were announced on Saturday by Siminalayi Fubara, who served as the Returning Officer for the presidential primary.
Announcing the outcome after collating results from the various local government areas, Fubara said:
“After accreditation, we had a total number of 280,082 votes cast. These votes were cast between the two contestants, His Excellency Bola Tinubu and Mr. Stanley Osifo.
“From my tabulation, the total votes cast are as follows: His Excellency Bola Tinubu scored a total of 280,082 votes, while the other contestant, Mr. Stanley Osifo, scored zero.
“I, Siminalayi Fubara, serving as the State Collation Officer, hereby certify that the information contained in my spreadsheets and forms represents the true, correct, and accurate summary of results from the 23 local government areas.
“We are expected to transmit the result to Abuja, but from what we have here, the winner is clearly His Excellency Bola Tinubu.”
