Standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ogbia Constituency One in the 2027 Bayelsa State House of Assembly election, Hon. Whoknows Azibola Odoko, has pledged to prioritize human capital development and empowerment programmes if elected into the state legislature.

Odoko made the declaration yesterday while speaking with journalists in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

It was gathered that former President Goodluck Jonathan is also a constituent of Ogbia Constituency One.

The PDP candidate stated that the era of electing representatives who abandon their constituents after securing victory at the polls was over, stressing that empowering people with opportunities and skills remained the best form of leadership.

According to him, his proposed empowerment initiatives would focus heavily on education, job creation and economic support programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of the people.
Odoko explained that, if elected, he would introduce educational support schemes targeted at training and retraining youths and other constituents to make them self-reliant and more competitive in the labour market.

He further promised to facilitate employment opportunities for qualified constituents with the necessary credentials and skills, assuring that his representation would bring relief and development to the constituency.

Speaking on the internal crisis within the PDP, the assembly hopeful maintained that political challenges were not peculiar to his party alone, noting that all major political parties in the country were facing one form of internal disagreement or another.

He expressed confidence that the PDP would overcome its challenges and emerge stronger and more united ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“I will win the election because my popularity cuts across party lines within the constituency and beyond. My supporters are prepared to translate the goodwill I enjoy into massive votes in 2027,” he said.

“Upon my election, I will pursue aggressive empowerment programmes in education, job creation and employment generation for my constituents. The era of electing candidates who have nothing meaningful to offer the people is over,” Odoko added.
