Angalabiri Women Protest, Demand Development Before Campaigns

The women of Angalabiri Federated Community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Friday staged a peaceful protest over what they described as years of unfulfilled promises by successive political leaders.

Led by the Chairlady, Mrs. Amos Priscilla, the protesters declared that no political party—including the APC, PDP, ADC, or any other party—would be allowed to campaign in the community until their demands are addressed.

The women called for the construction of an access road, improved MTN network coverage, women empowerment programmes, and increased opportunities for women in government appointments and employment.

They insisted that political leaders must demonstrate a genuine commitment to the development of the community before seeking their support in future elections, warning that they would resist all campaign activities in the area if their demands remain unmet
