APC Gains as NDC Members Defect in Toru-Orua

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a fresh boost in Toru-Orua, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, following the defection of several members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to the ruling party.

The defectors, who were received by APC leaders in the community, said they decided to join the party because of what they described as its progressive leadership and vision.

Among those who defected were Comrade Victor Matthew, Mr. Noah Apeikumor and Mrs. Monica Ebiowei, alongside several youth and women leaders from the community.
They were welcomed by APC leaders, including High Chief Mrs. Stella Ugolo, Hon. Odogu Akpolaemi, Dr. Akpos Tounaregha and other party stakeholders.

Also present at the reception was the Chairman of APC Ward 2, Angalabiri, Mr. Salmon Tarebulu, who was represented by the Ward Secretary, Mr. Newworld Belepeigha.

Speaking during the event, party leaders assured the new members of equal opportunities, inclusiveness and an enabling environment to contribute to the growth of the APC.

The APC described the defections as evidence of its growing grassroots support in Toru-Orua and other parts of Sagbama Local Government Area.

The statement announcing the defections was signed by the Publicity Secretary of APC Ward 2, Comrade Arekedoumene Andrew.
