The Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council has formally admitted the newly crowned monarch of Atissa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, King Victor Diemeze Awala, FCIN, into the state’s traditional institution as a royal father.
Welcoming the monarch, the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, King Bubaraye Dakolo Agada IV, Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom, described the formal presentation of newly installed traditional rulers to the Council as a time-honoured tradition that affirms the legitimacy of their ascension, promotes unity among traditional institutions and symbolises the peaceful transition of custodianship of ancestral thrones.
King Dakolo urged the new monarch to wear the crown with humility, lead with integrity and serve his people with sincerity of purpose, emphasizing that the true greatness of any kingdom is reflected in the welfare, peace and prosperity of its people.
Also speaking, the longest-reigning monarch in the Council, His Royal Majesty, King (Dr.) W.S. Igbugburu X, Ibenanaowei of Bomo Kingdom, charged King Awala to remain steadfast in truth, sincerity and courage, while upholding the dignity, honour and authority of the throne at all times.
In his response, His Royal Majesty, King Victor Diemeze Awala, expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman and members of the Council for the warm reception and invaluable words of wisdom extended to him.
He pledged to uphold the cherished values and traditions of the institution, work in harmony with fellow traditional rulers, and dedicate his reign to promoting peace, unity, development and prosperity in Atissa Kingdom and Bayelsa State.
The new monarch was accompanied to the ceremony by chiefs, community leaders and women leaders from various communities across the Atissa Kingdom.
