Yenagoa – The Bayelsa State Government has boosted its investment in the education sector with the delivery of five truckloads of brand-new school desks for secondary schools across the state.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle E. Emelah, who received the consignment on Tuesday evening at the Education House, Yenagoa, said the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing effective teaching and learning through improved infrastructure and modern facilities.


According to him, the desks will be distributed to various secondary schools in the state to provide a more conducive environment for learning.

Dr. Emelah commended Governor Douye Diri, describing him as the “Captain of the Assured Prosperity Agenda,” for his unwavering support towards educational advancement in Bayelsa.

“Our government is not only improving infrastructure in our schools but also equipping them with state-of-the-art facilities to make teaching and learning more efficient,” he stated.

He assured that the government would continue to prioritize education as a key pillar of development in the state.
