YENAGOA — The Bayelsa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Warman Ogoriba, has expressed the party’s readiness to collaborate with the Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda (BWIRHA) on inclusivity, grassroots mobilisation and the promotion of the association’s ideals.
Ogoriba stated this when the state and local government executives of BWIRHA, led by the State Coordinator, Comrade Peace Fekumo Sinclair, paid a courtesy visit to the APC secretariat in Yenagoa.
The APC chairman described the party as one big and indivisible family, always willing to accommodate individuals and associations whose objectives align with the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He acknowledged the vital role of women in politics and expressed confidence in the capacity of BWIRHA to contribute significantly to the growth of the APC and its electoral fortunes in Bayelsa State.
Ogoriba commended the vision, mission and objectives of the association, describing them as exceptional and encouraging the leadership and members to remain committed to promoting its goals.
He also urged members of the association to ensure that they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and APC membership cards ahead of the forthcoming elections, stressing the importance of active participation in the political process.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of BWIRHA, Comrade Peace Fekumo Sinclair, said the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the association to the state leadership of the APC.
Sinclair explained that the association’s membership cuts across various occupations, businesses and trades in the 36 states of the federation.
According to her, the Bayelsa chapter has over 5,000 women members and is actively involved in community development, grassroots mobilisation and other initiatives across the local government areas of the state.
She said the association was seeking recognition and integration into the APC women structures in Bayelsa State, assuring that its members were fully prepared to provide the necessary support to strengthen the party and contribute to its victory in the forthcoming elections.
The highpoint of the visit was the commitment by Ogoriba to consider and attend to the requests presented by the association.
He demonstrated the party’s willingness to work with BWIRHA by granting the association approval to use the APC secretariat hall for its meetings.
