There is a palpable alarm by residents of Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital over rising cases of car theft and cult war.

Efforts by our correspondent to get reaction from the police public relations officer proved abortive as at the time of filling in this report.

It was gathered that more than six cars have been stolen within one month.

A Toyota Camry car was stolen at the popular Otiotio road, with the owner reporting the incident to the police at Ekeki Police Division.

It was further learned that one person has been arrested in connection to the missing car.

In a related development residents of the state capital are living in fear following cult related wars, which has resulted to the loss of lives.

The fracas between the warring cultists which claimed the life of the cultists was between the Bobos and Islanders cult fraternity.

Some residents that spoke to one of our correspondents called on the government and the law enforcement agencies to be proactive in the tackling the rising cases of cult wars.
