The Chairman of the Bayelsa State Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Engr. Ebiye Tarabina, has inspected ongoing road projects in the state as part of efforts to ensure their timely completion and adherence to approved standards.
In a statement issued by the Director, Media/Publicity of the Directorate, Sambo Sataria, the Chairman was said to have inspected the ongoing Angiama/Enewari Road Project, where he assessed the level of work and progress recorded by the contractor.
According to the statement, the project has so far recorded 10 kilometres of clearing, seven kilometres of sand filling, 13 culverts and a two-span bridge along the project corridor.
Tarabina commended the contractor for the progress made but charged the company to expedite work to ensure the speedy completion of the project.
He noted that the completion of the Angiama/Enewari Road would significantly boost economic activities and improve connectivity for communities along the axis by providing easier access to the mainland.
The Chairman also inspected the ongoing construction of the Akaba/Okodi Road, where he assessed the level of work being undertaken and reiterated the importance of delivering quality infrastructure to the people.
The inspection is part of the Directorate’s ongoing tour of project sites across Bayelsa State aimed at monitoring government projects and ensuring compliance with approved specifications and quality standards.
Tarabina was accompanied during the inspection by the Secretary of the Directorate, Engr. Sampson Igodo; board members; engineers; and other officials of the Directorate.
