The E b i r a Community in Bayelsa Association (Kogi Central) has formally withdrawn the representative authority of Mr Hassan Audu, directing him to stop parading himself as a representative of the association, the E b i r a community, or Kogi State indigenes residing in Bayelsa State.

The association announced the decision in a letter dated September 24, 2026, addressed to Audu and signed by its President, Mr Abu Bakar Suleiman Ogirima, and General Secretary, Mrs Elizabeth Jeremiah.

In the letter titled “Formal Notification of Cessation of Representative Authority,” the association explained that Audu’s authority as Acting President of the Kogi Community Association in Bayelsa State arose from his membership and leadership position in the E b i r a Community Association.

According to the association, the position became vacant following the death of the late Moshood Abocheina, who previously occupied the office.

The letter further stated that Audu had resigned as President of the E b i r a Community in Bayelsa Association, while an election had subsequently been conducted, producing a new set of executives.

Consequently, the association maintained that his resignation meant he no longer had the basis or authority to continue acting as Acting President of the Kogi Community Association in Bayelsa State.

It therefore directed him to desist from representing himself in any official capacity on behalf of the E b i r a Community Association, the Kogi Community, or Kogi State indigenes residing in Bayelsa State.

The association said the notification was issued to ensure clarity, maintain proper records, and prevent any misunderstanding regarding Audu’s current status and authority.

The letter was endorsed by the association’s leadership, with the motto, “E b i r a Vonya,” displayed at the bottom of the document.
